1. What is in this building?
Despite its high profile and Segovia’s inscription as a World Heritage Site, the aqueduct is threatened by lack of maintenance, differential decay of stone blocks, water leakage from the upper viaduct, and in some areas pollution, which has caused the granite ashlar masonry to deteriorate and crack.
2. Who built this land mark and why did they build it?
 Vespasiano and Trajano where the emperor at the time who built this land mark. They built it in order to bring water from the river Acebeda to the city. This beautiful land mark begins near the Granja Palace with simple arches and carries the water to a tank known as 'el Caserón'.
3. When was this land mark built? Why was it built during this period of time?
 Constructed around A.D. 50, the Segovia aqueduct is one of the best preserved Roman aqueducts in Europe. A masterpiece of ancient engineering, it provided water to this Spanish city into the twentieth century and remains the city’s most prominent symbol.
4. What design did they use?
The landmark contained both single and double arches which are supported by pillars. It is built of unmortared brick like granite.
5. How does this land mark represent spain?
The Aqueduct is shown in the city's (Segovia) Coat of Arms. It is an important symbol in Spainish culture.

Basic ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatos
  • 2 medium sizes onions
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 courgettes
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • olive oil

    In the city of Segovia,the province of Segovia, region of Castile Leon, and there is a old town influenced by the Roman culture. It is located between the channels of rivers called Eresma and Clamores. This landmark helps define the culture of this region by illustrating how well the people of the region can engineer and shows the Roman culture influence in the region. This also shows how romans settled in this region and how they impacted the culture technologicly.
